Havasu Falls
We depart early for Hualapai Hilltop where we begin
our hike to Supai at the base of Havasu Canyon. Here we discover the
beauty and peace that few canyon visitors ever experience at the rim.
The descent takes us through a series of switchbacks to a dry
reek
bed where the scent of pine mixes with canyon oak. From the Supai
village, we continue to the campgrounds, which lie between Havasu Falls
and Mooney Falls. Over the next days we can swim in the blue green
water, hike to the Colorado River, or simply spend time absorbing the
beauty of the these unique surroundings.
Comm
unication, according to one definition,
involves the sending and receiving of a message. In our communication
with God (prayer) we are generally the senders and we have faith that
God is receiving our messages. Yet, most of the time, we pay little
attention to the messages God is sending us. We find it difficult
to quiet our minds in order to really listen to God.
In the serenity of the canyon we take some time each day to develop
our ability to listen to our God as God speaks with the voice of the
wind, water, earth or sky.
